Jode brought home a ton of bricks
By Jenny | May 29, 2007
Literally. Our church was demolishing a house they owned, in order to build more church buildings there, and so we had asked for the chimney. Jode has plans to build a brick patio in our back yard. I am looking forward to it, because we want to build an arbor, with flowers, and a bar-be-que, etc. It was really quite ingenious to ask after the chimney, if you ask me.And, Nate did an awesome job of spending all day (and I do mean, all day!) digging through the rubble to retrieve our ton of bricks. 531 bricks, exactly. Which was a ton.Our plans are not finalized yet, but we are hoping to possibly fence the yard, or at least get a dog run in. Jode is letting me decide where the patio will go, but he has the design going. It is a lot of fun to plan it out together, and figure out what we want to do. My brother has a great backyard, and I will likely be calling him for advice on flowers.

Ah, once I had a similar — no, the same — thought. I shall build a brick patio. 1921 7 lb. paving bricks and three months and 15 hours with a jackhammer and 300 lbs of sand and lots of gravel and yada yada yada, I have a huge old brick patio.
I also have a bunch of left over bricks. Please come get them!!!
