Thus, it begins…

By Jenny | July 4, 2006

Tonight Cori and I went to the movies, and walked home late. On the way home we saw A LOT of people setting off fireworks….the type that shoot into the air, and then go off. Waaayyy up in the air. Like right above the trees and houses. I couldn’t believe the fire hazard it was.

When I got to the house, I found an unhappy Jode…apparently some early revelers of the 4th of July had knocked out our electricity. Lots more fireworks, loud, and going off right over my house. Anyone else worried about this?
Really makes me look forward to tomorrow….craziness!

Yeah, at Jaime and Sal’s engagement party, towards the end of the evening, a friend brought out roman candles and large rockets. Fireworks+drunk people. Never a safe situation. I can’t believe nothing caught fire as they proceeded to shoot the roman candles into the tree canopies in the backyard. They also set up the rockets in an upside down styrofoam cooler in the backyard. Under the trees, close to the house. A few of us less-drunk people tried to talk some sense into them, but nothing would do except to set all six off at once. Again, I thank God nothing caught fire.
